Our History

Salt Fork Event Center began with a vision to create something lasting for Alva and Northwest Oklahoma: a place where agriculture, western heritage, business, entertainment, and community could come together under one roof.

Made possible through the commitment and collaboration of local leaders, community partners, and supporters, the vision grew into a 208,000-square-foot regional event destination designed to serve both the traditions of Northwest Oklahoma and the opportunities ahead.

The facility was built on land generously donated by the Mackey family, whose contribution is permanently recognized through the Mackey Great Room. From its earliest planning, Salt Fork Event Center was envisioned as more than an arena. It was created to welcome livestock competitions, agricultural events, conferences, banquets, trade shows, celebrations, entertainment, and community gatherings of all kinds.

On August 7, 2026, Salt Fork Event Center celebrated its grand opening.

Today, SFEC stands as an investment in the future of Alva and the surrounding region. It is a place designed to bring people together, welcome visitors to Northwest Oklahoma, support economic activity, celebrate our agricultural and western roots, and create new traditions for generations to come.
